Manchester City win 2016 Capital One
Cup – Manchester City have won the
2016 Capital One Cup after beating
Liverpool on penalties.

Fernandinho had given the Citizens
the lead early on but a dramatic
equalizer from Phillipe Coutinho in
the 83rd minute saw the game go to
extra time.

A stalemate in the added time
meant the game went to penalties,
with Manchester City’s Willy
Cabellero the hero of the night as
he saved three penalties from Lucas
Leiva , Phillipe Coutinho and Adam
Lallana .



It is one of 4 trophies City coach
Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping he
wins as he prepares to leave the
club, with Bayern Munich manager
Pep Guardiola set to take over in
the summer.
