Louis van Gaal is closing in on his first
deal this month as he looks to bolster his
attacking options for the remainder of his
Premier League title challenge

Manchester United are close to signing
Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto in a £12
million deal.

The Sunday People report that the
Bundesliga club are close to accepting
United’s offer, even though they are
not keen to sell the Japan
international.

United are also targeting Sadio Mane
but Southampton have informed them
that they have so plans to sell the
forward this month.

Muto only joined Mainz last May and
has scored seven goals in 14 Bundesliga
appearances this season.
