Robinho has returned for a third spell at his childhood club Santos on a season-long loan from AC Milan.
The Ex-Manchester City footballer was thought to be headed for the Major League Soccer (MLS), in the same direction as former team-mate Kaka at new MLS franchise Orlando City, but instead opts to reunite with Santos where he is still a fan favourite.
“This is my home. It’s a place where I feel very good and where I came into the world of football,” the forward, who has 92 Brazil caps and scored 27 times, told Santos’ website. “I hope top repay the affection of all the fans on the pitch. I want to put Santos back where they should be, at the very top of the table.”
Robinho left Santos for European champions Real Madrid in 2005 before moving to the Premier League.
His previous loan spell at the Brazilian club came while with Man City in 2010 before joining Milan.
He is under contract with the Rossoneri until the summer of 2016, but is keen to end his four-year stay in Milan this summer after an injury-hampered outing last year as the Serie A club finished eighth.
