The election in Rivers State will be under drone radar as the Governor has deployed 300 hi-tech drones for the election.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has deployed 300 drones ahead of the Saturday's rerun elections in the state.
It was learnt the super tech UAVs drones designed to fly at 13000ft above sea level with special HD super 4k cameras can spot minute objects and detect motions from a long distance, are a part of the governor’s strategies to ensure that the elections are monitored to avoid rigging and other forms of electoral malpractices.
Lere Olayinka, SA Public Communications & New Media to the Ekiti State Governor confirmed this on his Facebook page and wrote:
"#RiversRerun Gov Wike deploys 300 DRONES to monitor election and prevent rigging."
The drones which are remotely manned from a central control station located somewhere in the state capital will return live video streams to the control stations at real time.
It was gathered that the Wike took this measure in order to stop any rigging and monitor events live as it is happening in the different Local Government Areas of the state.
