Legal luminary, Rotimi Akeredolu has gained the staunch support of the people of Akoko South in Ondo State as he campaigns rigorously at the grassroot level.



The people of Oka Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State have accused the outgoing Governor Segun Mimiko-led administration of doing nothing to better their lives since he took over the reign of democratic governance eight years ago in the state.

The Olusi of Iwaro Oka, Oba Oloruntele Ogunoye who spoke today on behalf of the people of Oka Akoko while receiving the governorship of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, in his palace said all the maternity health centers and hospitals in Ayegunle, Ayepe, Iwaro, Oke-Oka, Okia, Simeri and Uba all in Okaland are glorifying consulting clinics masquerading as hospitals.

The visibly angry monarch also said that all the Trunk A, B and C roads in Oka land are currently in a state of despair.

The traditional ruler who was being cheered by indigenes of the community as he speaks said all communities in Oka land presently appears like they have been technically erased from the map of Ondo State.

The monarch however expressed confidence in Akeredolu, stating that the resume of the former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) is intimidating and thus could do better.

Responding, Akeredolu sympathized with the monarch over the collapse of governance in Oka land, promising that he would correct the injustice against the people of the area if they can entrust their sovereignty into his hands.

The Owo born Lawyer turned Politician also promised to provide jobs for the teeming unemployed youths of the community if voted into office.

On the entourage of Akeredolu was the Director General of the APC governorship Campaign Platform, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Gboyega, the son of former Governor Adebayo Adefarati, Mr Tunji Light Ariyomo and several others.
