In the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC’s) continued prosecution against Governor Ayodele Fayose, the anitgraft agency on Wednesday, july 13 sealed off a fuel station purportedly belonging to the governor.

The EFCC is investigating Fayose, the antigraft body has reportedly sealed off a fuel station belong to the Ekiti state governor.

The filling station, identified as ‘Chance Oil’ which is located at Lambe, Akute area of Ogun state, was said to have been sealed off by operatives of the commission for reasons not dissociated from the financial crimes charges against Fayose.



This would not be the first time the governor will have a brush with the commission, especially regarding the sealing off of his purported properties and freezing his Zenith Bank account.

Earlier this month, the commission had seized four duplexes on Victoria Island in Lagos State and one located at 44 Osun Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, purportedly belonging to the governor.

While reacting to the incident, Fayose flayed the commission for always putting the cart before the horse, adding that the commission should have adequately verified it’s Information before acting.

This Day reports that Fayose, who spoke through his special assistant on public communications and new media, Lere Olayinka, said the EFCC is acting in unbelievable manner by not adequately verifying it’s information before going after his boss.

He said:-

“It is ridiculous to say such thing about a person that has been governor for two years. How would you say Governor Fayose has a filling station at Akute?

“If he would have had a filling station, he would have had it along Lagos – Ibadan express road, at Lekki and other high brow areas and not Akute. Does he even have any link with Akute?

“Governor Fayose would rather have something like NNPC mega station, which would have like at least 20 pumps. He has been a successful businessman before becoming governor.

“When I hear some of these things, I just say are they really brainy. Last week, because Governor Fayose used a guest house, Brilla Bicaso, Gana Street, Abuja, they wanted to lock the place.”

In the same vein, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of now using ‘trial and error’ tactics in its quest to muzzle all oppositions to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fayose, who spoke on Tuesday, 12 July, 2016, believes his investigation by the EFCC is mere vendetta.

According to Fayose’s government, “officials of the EFCC stormed a popular guest house on Gana street, Maitama, Abuja today to seal off the property believing that Governor Fayose owned the guest house only for the EFCC officials to be confronted with the fact that operator of the guest house leased the property from its owner for ten years.”
