Sai Masu Gida have thumbed up the
transfer of the Super Eagles’ assistant
skipper to England and predicted
more opportunities for their players.
Kano Pillars have congratulated
their former star Ahmed Musa who
sealed a four year move to English
champions, Leicester City ahead of
the 2016/17 season.
Sai Masu Gida have predicted that
the switch of the Super Eagles
deputy captain to England will no
doubt open the doors for more
players of the side to play in the
most exciting league in the world
and other top clubs abroad.
Idris Malikawa,the club’s media
officer, told Goal that Pillars are
happy about the movement of Musa
to Leicester City and are convinced
that the striker will be successful in
England just like he left his
footprints in Europe since leaving
Nigeria in 2010 as then record
scorer in the domestic league.
“We are happy with the
movement of Musa to England
and we are very certain that he
will continue to represent us well
just like he did in Holland and
Russia. We are glad that Musa
passed through Pillars and that he
has continued to move higher and
higher and this won’t cease,â€
Malikawa told Goal.
“He was with us some weeks ago
when he attended our training
session before the game with Abia
Warriors which we won
handsomely for him. He has been
a good ambassador of the club
and his success at such a young
age is a testament that he was a
very good player when he was
with us.â€
Musa has won multiple titles in
Nigeria with Kano Pillars and with
Russian giants CSKA after joining
them from Dutch side, VVV Venlo
and he becomes the fourth signing
of the summer for the English
champions after the capture of
goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler,
defender Luis Hernandez and
Nampalys Mendy.
Musa scored 13 goals and provided
five assists for CSKA in 30 Russian
Premier League games last season.
He has also scored 11 goals in 58
Nigeria appearances, two of them
coming in the 3-2 loss to Argentina
in the 2014 World Cup.
