A 10 year-old pupil of Humble Way Mission School at Lorminava, Sowotuom in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, Dorothy Appiah has been shot by some police officers.
According to AdomOnline, the girl was shot in the head but didn't die. She was rushed to the hospital by the police.
It was gathered that the incident happened
while the police were in a fierce shootout with some armed robbers on Tuesday. She was later transferred to the 37 Military Hospital as her condition became very critical.
Doctors say there are bullets in her skull thus would need an operation in the head to save her life. However, the police who brought the girl to the hospital have not been seen again since making the hospital management to worry.
Uncle of the victim, Kwabena Owusu has
expressed worry about the girl’s condition
“My niece is still unstable and we are very worried as a family and so we want the Accra Central, CID Department of the police to come out and make sure that justice is done because we want to know who shot her†he said.
