It was a black Saturday on the
Abeokuta – Sagamu expressway as
two persons were confirmed dead
and many critically injured in a
multiple accident along the road.

A three-day old baby girl was said
survived the accident and was
rescued alive unhurt. Sadly, her
father and one other person died,
while the mother suffered fractures
on both legs.

The accident, which occurred
around 3:45pm beside the Police
ICT College on Abeokuta – Kobape
stretch of Abeokuta – Sagamu road,
involved four vehicles including a
taxi.

Others are a Toyota Siena van ,
Nissan Pathfinder Jeep and an
unmarked Toyota Corolla car.

Public Relations Officer of the
Ogun State Traffic Compliance and
Enforcement Agency (TRACE),
Babatunde Akinbiyi told reporters
that the driver of the Toyota Siena
which was going to Abeokuta, lost
control of the vehicle and skidded
off its lane when he lost the two
rear tyres.

Babatunde added that the Siena
inevitably crashed into the three
other vehicles going out of
Abeokuta with two of the victims
dying on the spot.

The TRACE PRO also confirmed that
the three-day old baby was rescued
alive.
