The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi
will on Friday, January 29, 2015, pay another
royal visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland and one
of the most respected monarchs in the country,
Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The reason for the visit is not known as at
presstime. But it can’t and won’t be far away
from matters concerning the Yoruba race and
Nigeria in general. It will also afford the two
first class traditional rulers the opportunity to
know each other better.The Ooni, it would be
recalled, had only days back visited the Alaafin
of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi. The visit
attracted massive media mention – especially
because Oba Ogunwusi’s predecessor, late Oba
Okunnade Sijuwade and the Alaafin never really
enjoyed a cordial relationship.Their
disagreement bordered majorly on supremacy,
which his successor is obviously not interested
in.
