Manchester United’s hopes of qualifying
for the knockout stages of the
Champions League hang in the balance
after they were held to a 0-0 draw by
PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard
missed United’s best chances either
side of half-time, as PSV held on to
frustrate Louis van Gaal’s side, who
would have qualified with a win.

The result leaves United in second
place in Group B, just a point above
PSV in third and facing a trip to
first-place Wolfsburg in the final
game knowing a win would see them
finish top of the group.

If PSV win at home to bottom side
CSKA Moscow, a defeat or draw for
United in Wolfsburg would see them
drop out of the Champions League
and into the Europa League
knockout stage.
